Alex Austin is a digital artist, script writer, and photographer living in Blacksburg, VA. They work as an interlibrary loan student assistant at Newman Library and a Photographer/Videographer at Student Engagement and Campus Life. Their class work focuses on 2D and 3D animation, and their practice revolves around building and designing characters for their various stories. They create their stories and characters around themes of neurodivergence, mental illness, disability, and queerness. Having grown up practicing Taekwondo, they are engaged in crafting compelling fight scenes using animation, words, or on the stage in a performance. Currently, Alex aims to apply for grad school to pursue masters’ degrees in library science and creative writing.
